Iswadi Pratama has been an actor and director since 1998. Then he founded Teater Satu Lampung with Imas Sobariah since 1996. A number of directing works have been played in various cities in Indonesia, Australia, Kuala Lumpur, Japan, Germany and others. Twice was awarded as the Best Theater of Indonesia in 2008 and 2013 by Tempo Magazine. One of the plays titled “Nostalgia Sebuah Kota” was translated by the University of Hamburg, Germany, and made an International Collaborative Show between Indonesian, German, Hungarian, Russian, Spanish, Dutch, Ivory Coast, French artists. In addition, Keyula Barger from the Zero Ball company Contemporary Ballet Group, Hungary and Artistic Consultant from the Pina Bausch Tanz Theater in 2010. Directed collaborative work with Australian and Indonesian artists “The Age of Bones” and was nominated for the 2017 Green Award in Melbourne, Australia. He was the tutor of Salihara Acting Class at Salihara community Jakarta in 2015-2017, and became the tutor of acting class at Titi Mangsa Foundation since 2018 until now. In addition, besides directing and becoming an actor at Teater Satu, Iswadi also writes poetry, prose, drama scripts, film screenplays, and essays. Most of the works has been published in Kompas, Koran Tempo, the Asia-Australia Literary Festival, Kompas Best Poetry Collection, Mimbar Penyair Abad 21 (Jakarta Arts Council), Words Storm Festival, Australia, also curator for the Ubud Writer and Readers Festival, etc. Two books on acting methods have been published: “Teater Asik, Asik Teater” (2008) and “Mensarah Stanislavski” written with Ari Pahala Hutabarat (2015). In 2016 he performed Eugene Ionesco’s “Kursi Kursi” in the Asia Director’s Festival in Toyama, Japan and again performed at Teater Jakarta on the opening of the finals of Festival Teater Jakarta, November 2019.

Salah satu lakon bertajuk “Nostalgia Sebuah Kota” diterjemahkan oleh Universitas Hamburg, Jerman, dan dijadikan Pertunjukan Kolaborasi Internasional antara seniman2 Indonesia, Jerman, Hongaria, Rusia, Spanyol, Belanda, Pantai Gading, Prancis. Melibatkan pula Keyula Barger dari Kelompok Balet Kontemporer Zero Dance company, Hongaria  dan Konsultan  Artistik dari Pina Bausch Tanz Theatre tahun 2010. Menyutradarai karya kolaborasi bersama seniman2 Australia dan Indonesia “The Age of Bones” dan dinominasikan meriah Green Award tahun 2017 di Melbourne, Australia. Pernah menjadi Pengampu kelas Acting di komunitas Salihara tahun 2015-2017. Dan  menjadi pengampu kelas acting di Titi Mangsa Foundation sejak 2018 hingga saat ini. Selain menyutradarai dan menjadi aktor di Teater Satu, Iswadi juga menulis puisi, prosa, naskah drama, skenario film, dan essay. Sebagian besar karya telah dibukukan dan dipublikasikan di Kompas, Koran Tempo, Asia-Australia Literary Festival, Kumpulan Puisi Terbaik Kompas, Mimbar Penyair Abad 21 (Dewan Kesenian Jakarta), Words Storm Festival, Australia, juga menjadi kurator untuk Ubud Writer and Readers Festival, dll. Dua buku tentang metode seni peran  yang telah terbit: “Teater Asyik, Asyik Teater” (2008) dan Mensarah Stanislavski ditulis bersama Ari Pahala Hutabarat (2015). Tahun 2016  mementaskan lakon “Kursi Kursi” karya Eugene Ionesco dalam Asia Director’s Festival di Toyama, Jepang dan kembali dipentaskab di Teater Besar Jakarta dalam malam Pembukaan putaran final Festival Teater Jakarta, November 2019.
